She's so crafty

Hey everyone,
The Heyboer's have been busy beavers lately. Scott has been having some trouble with his back and after an MRI we learned he has a herniated disc. Today we saw the neurosurgeon and the Lord saw fit not to require us surgery. Thank you, thank you. God is always so good to us. The Dr. just told Scott to take is easy at times. I just laughed, does my husband know what that means? The kids are doing well and are all getting over their snotty noses. Quinn saw the Chiropractor today and is doing much better, she always seems to get sick the worse. Amazing how some kids have super immunity and some don't. It might have something to do with the fact that she has not been eating well lately. She informed me the other day at lunch "mom, I can't eat this because I am allergic to it". Where does she come up with this stuff. Although I have become quite clever with recipes in order to get them to eat more fruits and vegetables. Quinn loves her "green juice" which is loaded with fruits and veggies but tastes like apples. Gideon has been such a big boy going on the potty. I have such high hopes of getting him out of diapers before the new baby. Go ahead and laugh. One day at a time right.
Lately the craft bug has been biting me and I have been coming up with some super cool things which also happen to be quite thrifty. I made some cute pictures for the girls new room. I just took some goodwill frames and spray painted them and then made some cute scrapbook backgrounds with fake flowers and ribbon in the center. I'll try to post the pictures. Next is my magnetic cookie sheet art displays in the playroom. I just spray painted some cookie sheets white (different sizes) and put them on the wall in crazy ways and then used magnets to display the kiddo's artwork. I know what you're thinking, Martha Stewart step aside. Well feel free to comment with any crafty things you're working on. Hope all is well.

Missions week

This past week was such a blessing for our family. We had missions week at our church and from Wednesday to Sunday we had special services to hear from different missionaries and really catch a burden for what they do all around the world. More importantly we need a greater burden for the lost souls around us. I know the Lord spoke to my heart and burdened me just to trust Him more in our daily lives knowing that He will supply all our needs. Our church was able to take on two new missionaries with monthly support. It is so exciting to know we get to be a part of that. Valentine's day was a good one, Charlie had the day off and we just lounged around and relaxed. I think the kids needed a break from all the running. Scott left again for Detroit but praise the Lord for the warmer weather which for me means I don't have to fill the stove as much. Our ultrasound is scheduled for March 4 and maybe we will get to find out what the baby is. Quinn is really hoping for another sister. I am going to try to take the girls with me. I can only imagine the questions. Take care everyone.

Triangle Ears

Hi everyone,
First of all I brought all the kiddo's to the midwife today to hear the baby. After much explaining that today would not be the day the baby was born it all made sense to them after they heard the heartbeat. I wish I could freeze that moment in time, all three of them listening to the little heartbeat and then all the questions that came after. Quinn was the most creative, "Mommy do you have lights in your tummy for the baby to see?" and (Charlie) "Is the baby going for a swim all the time?" and Quinn, "Mommy, does the baby need a blanket in there? because I don't want it to get cold". They always make me laugh. Everything was so healthy with the little one and I am now 18 weeks. Now I need to share Charlie's funny on the way to school the other day. My kids are my deer watchers in the car and Charlie spotted one last week but informed me mid-sighting that is wasn't because it had triangle ears so it must have been a fox. She always is the ultra observant one. The girls sang in kids choir on Sunday and they both sang, well Quinn just smiled most of the time but we're making progress. Scott and I volunteered to help with Sunday school so pray the Lord will use us. Hope everyone is enjoying the blizzard and staying warm.
